If you're an avid reader of Dollar Bin Horror, then you already know my obsession with zombie walks. I've been to five so far, all of which have been hosted by the fantastic local horror movie production company Old School Sinema. Every one of them has seemed to be better than the last, and this one was no exception. So what made this one better? A multitude of things!

Dollar Bin Horror Spotlight - Didrik Davis

Horror actor Didrik Davis is a rising star in the indie horror circuit. Starting as a young pro wrestler, his menacing presence led to on-screen success in Squire Bill, Lee Martin's Midnight Hour, and opposite blaxploitation icon Fred "The Hammer" Williamson in Ryan Thompson's cult hit, Zombie Apocalypse Redemption. He's also known well for his work in student films such as the 2011 MotorCity Horrorcon favorite Man of The House and his portrayal of a brutal Serbian thug in Detroit/Windsor International Film Festival winner The Paper Man. Didrik took the time to sit down with us to discuss his work and what's coming up next for this budding star.

The entire "Friday the 13th" series in a nutshell

Not sure what Friday the 13th film to watch this holiday weekend?!? Well, I am here to break down all the Friday the 13th films for you in a nutshell. Hopefully, this will provide you with the insight to make an informed decision. And remember, no swimming, drinking, smoking or sexing, if you want make it out of this weekend alive.

Remake: Technically well done, stylishly directed, but overall suffers from a lack of freshness. The story is too overly familiar and for a series known for innovative death sequences, the kills here are too paint by the numbers. Grade:  C 

Freddy vs. Jason: Why was this film called Freddy vs Jason? They might have as well called this A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 8, because Jason was a supporting character in his own film. This entry merged together two legendary horror characters rather clumsily. Grade:  C 

Jason X: Any time a series moves the action to outer space, that's usually a sign that the series has hit rock bottom. Jason X is no exception. Grade:  F  

Jason Goes to Hell:  It's an admirable thing to try to do something different to freshen up a long running series, but it's another to change the film up so much that it bears no resemblance to the other films in this long running series which is exactly what this final entry in the series is guilty of. Besides that, this entry fails to build up any suspense or terror and instead focuses on featuring gory, over the top set pieces with an emphasis on torture. However, the biggest problem with Jason Goes to Hell is the fact that Jason is barely on screen in his very own film! Grade:  F

If you've been a regular listener to the radio show, then you've probably heard me bitch about how every horror show now a days is on cable and us folks who are too broke for Showtime and AMC can't get a piece of the tv terror pie...well I can finally put a sock in it and enjoy the taste of sweet prime time horror! Ok, Reaplings. I'm not going to slag 2000s low-budget horror films...ok...actually I am. To me, unlike the low-budget horror films of the 1980s(oh no, Eric's having an 80s flashback), these films seem to decent not into paralyzing terror but into mind-numbing parody. Knock Knock is directed(sort of) by Joseph Ariola and is about Rico who is just a big, fun-loving son of a hard working neighborhood business man. The problem is his dad is an undertaker. Some popular high school students thought he was weird because of it. Rico kept to himself and helped his dad around their funeral home after school. One night after a high school pep rally, some of those students wanted to have a little fun.
