Dollar Bin Horror Celebrates 1 Year of Being Online!

That's right folks, Dollar Bin Horror turns one year old today (well, actually it was yesterday, but I had school and forgot to make a post...yeah....)! And in the little time span of 365 days, this blog has turned from a little spot on the web to post small reviews of films I found at Dave's Supermarket to a blog where indie film makers, authors, artists, and horror fans from every walk of life can come to enjoy reviews, giveaways, and the occasion drama filled moments that have made their way onto DBH in the past 52 weeks.

So what do I have to say about my experience so far? I say I wouldn't trade it for the world. I have gotten to meet some of the kindest, most generous people in the horror biz. I've gotten to mingle with zombies, chat with film directors, and write with authors. I've gotten to live one of my dreams (having my stories published) and I hope to one day see my other one come to life (having one of those stories made into a short or feature length film). I've made life long friends (and enemies), but most of all, I've gotten to experience some things that not many people would ever be able to in a lifetime.

Of course, I didn't do this on my own. I couldn't have. And so, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to a few of the people who helped to be where I'm at today.

To my fellow DBH staff, Eric Polk and Brandon Sites, you two are my lifeline. You guys keep DBH alive and kicking when I have too much homework to do and otherwise wouldn't be able to post for a fucking month! You guys stepped up to help me when I really needed it and even after I knew I would be alright, you still stuck in there with me and continued to write kick ass posts. This blog is just as much yours as it is mine.

To Cal Miller, you helped me see my potential. To made me want to write. You gave me the chance to prove to myself I could. You've been one of the best friends I have made this entire time and I don't know what I would do without you.

To David Naughton-Shires, I didn't even have to ask you for help, you just did. I didn't have to ask for your friendship, you just were. I didn't ask you to be there for me, you just have been. You are the definition of a gentleman and I am forever in your debt.

To B-Sol of The Vault of Horror, if it wasn't for you asking me to participate in your Ms. Horror Blogosphere competition, I don't think anyone would even have found my little blog. Thank you for your support and friendship.

To Rick of The Paradise of Horror, your blog inspired me to start mine. You made me want to blog. Your posts made me want to write me own. Although you may not know this, I thank you for the inspiration and motivation.

To everyone that has let me review their work, thank you for the chance. Thank you for trusting me enough to see and give my opinion of what you have busted your ass to create. Thank you for the honor.

To all the companies that have given me products for giveaways, thank you so much for all your generosity and your friendship. It's companies like you, who actually care about their customers, that make my day.

To all my blogging, author, and horror friends (there are so many of you, you know who you are), no matter what anyone else has said about or to me, you guys have stood with me and made me realize just what a real friend is supposed to be, I love each and every one of you like brothers and sisters.

To all the readers, fans, and supporters, you have no idea what you all mean to me. If it wasn't for you, this blog wouldn't exists. Rhonny Reaper wouldn't exists. You guys have made this blog what it is and I and forever in gratitude to each and everyone person who has read this blog.

And to all the people who hated my blog, said the content was trash, said it wouldn't make it anywhere (you also know who you are), Thank you. You all made me a stronger person. You all made me want to blog better, to prove that nothing you've said was true. Sure, DBH is still not perfect, but I think it's a damn good site and I think I have done enough to prove that it's here to stay.

Thank you all for helping make DBH what it is today and I can't wait to make another post when we turn 2!

DBH rules. I can't thank YOU enough for your support for my piddly ass poor excuse for a blog. It's there and without your first initial "shove" I probably wouldn't have any followers. Thank YOU for everything and may DBH live forever.
