Dollar Bin Film - "The Bat"

A crazed killer known as "The Bat" is on the loose in a mansion full of people.

As we all know already, if Vincent Price is in it, I love it. But this time, we not only get the master, but the lovely Agnes Moorehead plays the co-staring role of the novelist who turns out to be the hero of the film! The story of the film has actually been made twice before this one was made, but Price adds his fresh flair to the story through his acting. And it's a great story, full of mystery and suspense. Is the killer a man, or a beast with wings? If you've seen it, you know the answer. If you haven't, it will keep you guessing till the end.

Dollar Bin Film - "The Monster Maker"

A mad scientist injects his enemies with acromegaly virus, causing them to become hideously deformed.
What is it with monkeys and pre-1960 monster movies? I mean, they don't even need it in this film, but they got one just for good measure or some shit like that. I don't get it. But other than that, this film was quite enjoyable. It delivers the sci-fi camp, the low budget B-movie feel, and the old school plot twists. Overall, not a bad watch!

Dollar Bin Film - "Silent Night Bloody Night"

Folks trying to sell an isolated New England mansion, with a dark history, are being stalked and killed by an escaped maniac. But who is this deranged murderer and why do the local townspeople act so strange?
I didn't get this film the first time I watched it, but over time I've come to like this low budget b-movie. The story is a little confusing, and the acting ain't so hot, but it has a dark and chilling atmosphere throughout the whole film that makes you wanna watch it again. If you like B-movies, and I do, then this is definitely worth a look.

Dollar Bin Film - "Invisible Ghost"

The town's leading citizen becomes a homicidal maniac after his wife deserts him.
A lot of this film is pretty unbelievable, like the fact that his wife, who left him and was presumably killed in a car crash, secretly lives in the gardener's shed, thinking she's dead because of brain damage from the crash, but she's not...yeah I'm as confused as you are. But the bizarre, ghostly atmosphere, a lot of great camera work for the time, and Bela Lugosi's wonderful performance redeems the film, making it an enjoyable watch.

Dollar Bin Film - "Grave of the Vampire"

Kroft, a rapist and legendary vampire, returns from sleep. Kroft attacks a couple in a graveyard, raping the woman. The child born, James, feeds only on blood from his mother's breast. 30 years later, James wants to avenge his mother. The first half hour or so of this 70's piece is disturbing, in a good way. It's surprisingly violent and cruel for a film of it's era. But thats not to say it's perfect...whoever wrote some of the dialog to this movie was high on something...but none the less a really good find and I would absolutely recommend it to horror fans! Dollar Bin Film - "Swamp Women"

An undercover policewoman helps three female convicts escape from prison so that they can lead her to a stash of stolen diamonds hidden in a swamp. This movie has everything a bad B-movie asks for baby! Bad acting? Check. Hot girls in shorts? Check. Totally fake looking alligator? Check. Looks like it was made for no more than $50? Check that one too! If you like bad movies and hot girls fighting in a swamp, what more could you ask?!?

Dollar Bin Film - "The Screaming Skull"

A newlywed couple arrives at the home of the husband's late wife, where the gardens have been maintained by a gardener faithful to the dead woman's memory. Soon eerie events lead the new wife to think she is going out of her mind. It's horribly acted and badly written...so it's the perfect bad B-movie experience! Even for it's time this movie was over the top in bad shit...but if a B-horror movie isn't over the top, what is?

Dollar Bin Film - "The Amazing Mr X"

Two years after her husband's death, Christine Faber thinks she hears her late husband calling out of the surf on the beach one night. She meets a tall dark man who seems to know all about her. After more ghostly manifestations, Christine and her younger sister become enmeshed in the strange life of Alexis; but he in turn finds himself manipulated into deeper cruelness than he had in mind. Its a really good thriller with supernatural overtones and for a movie of it's time, one of the best shot. It's a low budget B-movie that didn't look that interesting at first, but sure delivered the goods!

Dollar Bin Film - "The Bowery at Midnight"

A professor of criminology by day and a soup kitchen operator by night , Prof. Frederick Brenner, under the alias Karl Wagner, uses his soup kitchen as a front for a criminal gang who commit a series of daring robberies and murders. When things get out of hand, he kills his henchmen, who wind up as zombies in the cellar of the soup kitchen. Staring the legendary Bela Lugosi, this film combines classic noir film making with a zombie flick. I good watch for any horror or crime drama fan.

Dollar Bin Film - "Shock"

A psychologically distraught woman is committed to a private sanitarium by the man whom she witnessed commit a murder. This film was shot in just 19 days and stars the always wonderful Vincent Price (Before the famously thin mustache). I really like this one cause you really feel for the victim ad it gives you a sense of dread ad just plain unwellness that a lot of the new horror films just can't do. Plus it has Price, what more do you want huh?

Dollar Bin Film - "Invisible Strangler"

A convicted strangler, studying the paranormal in his jail cell, learns to make himself invisible. As an invisible man, he escapes from prison to stalk and strangle the five women who testified against him at his trial. Robert Foxworth plays the police lieutenant assigned to protect them, and to catch the invisible strangler. This film is most certainly not perfect, but its not the worst thing I've ever seen either. It's certainly worth a buck, and it makes for a decent movie night in.

Dollar Bin Film - "Horror Express"

An English anthropologist has discovered a frozen monster in the frozen wastes of Manchuria which he believes may be the Missing Link. He brings the creature back to Europe aboard a trans-Siberian express, but during the trip the monster thaws out and starts to butcher the passengers one by one. Staring British horror icons Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, this movie would appeal X files and Agatha Christie murder mystery fan alike. It has a great feeling of paranoia through out and is genuinely unnerving. I definitely recomend it.

Dollar Bin Film - "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"

In fifteenth century Paris, the brother of the archdeacon plots with the gypsy king to foment a peasant revolt. Meanwhile, a freakish hunchback falls in love with the gypsy queen. This classic silent film stars the legendary Lon Chaney, The Man of a Thousand Faces, and was Universal's most successful silent film, grossing over three-million dollars. This is one of my favorite silent films and is a must see for any classic film fan.

Dollar Bin Film - "Little Shop of Horrors"

A clumsy young man nurtures a plant and discovers that it's a bloodthirsty plant, forcing him to kill to feed it. Shot in two days on sets that had been left over from a previous production, This 1960's horror/comedy is a low budget, B-movie gem. It has a cameo from a young Jack Nicholson, was made into a Broadway musical, and the musical was made into a 1980's film by the same name. This campy, funny film is a must see if you love classic black humor.

Dollar Bin Film - "Killer Shrews"

On an isolated island, a small group of people is terrorized by giant, voracious shrews in the midst of a hurricane. The "shrews" in this ultra-low-budget film are small dogs dressed in animal skins to make them look like large, killer shrews. This cult classic is the embodiment of the B-movie. It's fun, suspenseful, and an entertaining movie. If you love a good bad B-film, Get it!

Dollar Bin Film - "Atom Age Vampire"

When a singer is horribly disfigured in a car accident, a scientist develops a treatment which can restore her beauty by injecting her with a special serum. While performing the procedure, however, he falls in love with her. As the treatment begins to fail, he determines to save her appearance, regardless of how many women he must kill for her sake. Despite the title, this film is really a mad scientist gone madder for a pretty girl. Classic 60's film and worth a watch.

Dollar Bin Film - "Attack of the Giant Leeches"

In the Florida Everglades, a pair of larger-than-human, intelligent leeches are living in an underwater cave. They begin dragging local people down to their cave where they hold them prisoner and slowly drain them of blood. Ah, a gem in the classic, low-budget, ridiculously awesome film category. Starring Playboy Playmate Yvette Vickers, this film is the perfect example of B-movie trash, which makes me love it so much more. Check it out!

Dollar Bin Film - "The Man Who Knew Too much"

A man and his wife receive a clue to an imminent assassination attempt, only to learn that their daughter has been kidnapped to keep them quiet. Though not really a horror film, I'm sure any horror fan will tell you how much they love this film. Staring the legend Peter Lorre and directed by Alfred Hitchcock (and if you don't know who that is, something is wrong with you mentally), this film is definitely a treasure to find in the Dollar Bin.

Dollar Bin Film - "Horror Hotel"

On the recommendation of her professor (Christopher Lee), a young female student (Venetia Stevenson) travels to a small Massachusetts town to do some research into witchcraft. She finds the town occupied by the reincarnation of an infamous witch (Patricia Jessel) burned at the stake in the 17th century. Though the films stars Christopher lee, the real star is the witch Patricia Jessel, who performance makes me feel uneasy to this day. This is a must see for horror fans or fans of classic films. This film is also known under the title "City of the Dead".

Dollar Bin Film - "The Ape"

Dr. Bernard Adrian is a kindly mad scientist who wants to cure a young woman's polio. He needs spinal fluid from a human to complete the formula for his experimental serum. Meanwhile, a vicious circus ape has broken out of its cage, and is terrorizing people. While it has it's flaws, this movie stars the legend Boris Karloff and is a nice addition to any horror or Karloff movie collection...plus it can be found for only a buck! How can you beat that?
