Dollar Bin Horror Spotlight - Jason Dark Ghost Hunter: Theater of Vampires

When stage magic isn't what it seems, Jason Dark turns to an old friend for help. Explore the shadows of the Victorian Theater with London's most famous Geisterjäger as he confronts a horror beyond anything yet confronted. "Theater of Vampires" is a story of betrayal, discovery, and horror in the tradition of the Grand Guignol. The only admission price needed is your courage.

This is the second book in a series of short novellas, yet the story is good enough to stand on it's own. The story revolves around Jason Dark, a character with whom I would liken to Sherlock Holmes, and his friends Max and Siu Lin coming in contact with a group of blood thirsty vampires after a theater show. If you are a fan of classic mystery books, gothic novels, or vampires that don't sparkle, you'll love this short and sweet 62 page tale. Though the story itself is short, the action and intensity of the story is as large as a full novel. The fast pacing and well written dialogue keeps you turning pages (I read the whole thing in about an hour). The story takes place in Victorian London, so the gothic feel ans atmosphere of the book would really appeal to fans of classic Anne Rice. All in all, a great little page turner that would appeal to a broad spectrum of genre fans. You can buy your copy HERE.

I just got several of these sent to me and am looking forward to sitting down with them during the huge snowstorm that is going to hit my area this week. They look pretty interesting. I'm not all that fond of the way the pages are printed -- the narrow magazine column style -- but am sure it will fade from my mind if the story and writing is captivating.

Thanks for reviewing the story, though, Rhonny. Glad you enjoyed it.
