Dollar Bin Film - "A Brush With Death"

Five cheerleaders spend the night in an abandoned farmhouse; they soon find themselves up against the vengeful spirit of a boy who’s rumored to have painted a portrait with the blood of his brother that he murdered forty years earlier.

Before I watched this film, I read other reviews on Amazon and IMDB and found almost all of them to be completely negative. I didn't find this film that bad actually. Sure, parts of it were a tad annoying (like the "cheerleaders" acting) but overall, It wasn't as bad as the rap it's gotten online. Let's start with the good. I found the story itself to be quite interesting and unique. The opening sequence was lovely and the music was great. While most of the acting was dreadful, I found the "mentally challenged" character's acting to be almost good. I thought the dream sequence looked great and had a really nice grungy feel (too bad the rest of the movie wasn't like that). Ok, now we must talk about the bad. First off, the acting was pretty bad, especially by the blonde girl in the pink shirt (I can't remember the character's name but if you watch it, you'll know what I mean). The story did get a bit confusing at times, but kind of straitened itself out by the end (although I'm still not sure why the creepy gas station man was even in the film, his character really had nothing to do with the plot other than to be creepy). While the film has a lot of flaws (and I mean a lot), it isn't as horrible as you may have heard; I actually enjoyed parts of it. If your willing to give it a try or have already seen it, let me know your thoughts! This film can be found in the Blood Bath movie collection from http://www.crazyape.com/mv52019.html

I hated this one. Watched it a while back but I went in blind on it. Didn't know much of anything about it. I often think that when I know I am going into a very bad movie, or at least what other people see as a bad movie, I end up not thinking it was that bad. Maybe because we feel we won't enjoy it going in?
