Dollar Bin Film - "Harvest of Fear"
Medical intern, Billy McKinley arrives in the small town of Devil’s Lake and finds himself thrust into the middle of a mystery of unsolved murders just as the annual Harvest Festival begins. The murders are similar to those of 20 years earlier. Has the original killer resurfaced or has a copycat come to take his place? Now, Billy must find the killer and save the town before it’s too late.
This low budget indie flick isn't perfect, but it has something for everyone to enjoy. Do you like to yell at the screen when a hot but dumb girl just stands and screams instead of running for her life? Give the movie 5 minutes flat and you'll be a happy camper. Do you like nice breasts that flop around as that really dumb girl who should have started running 30 seconds ago actually runs...with no shirt or bra on? Give it another 5 minutes and you got em. Do you like a cute leading man with a sinister smile? Blonde haired, blue eyed Billy is your kind of dude. How about some cheap, bloody special effects? Yeah, there's a bit of that too. And finally, who likes a twist at the end that you kind of saw coming from the middle of the move? Oh yeah, it's got that too! Again, this movie was far from perfect, but I found it to be fun to watch without being over-the-top cheesy. The story was actually pretty well written and easy to follow, but the acting could have used a boost. None the less, I would recommended this film if you have a night to kill and you aren't too stuck up about your horror films. Just sit back and relax and I think you'll find this one amusing.
