Dollar Bin Horror Spotlight - The Dead Path (Review and Giveaway!)

Nicholas Close has always had an uncanny intuition, but after the death of his wife he becomes haunted, literally, by ghosts doomed to repeat their final violent moments in a chilling and endless loop. Torn by guilt and fearing for his sanity, Nicholas returns to his childhood home and is soon entangled in a disturbing series of disappearances and  murders—both as a suspect and as the next victim of the malignant evil lurking in the heart of the woods.

Remember that old movie The Sixth Sense where the little boy sees dead people? Well, Nicholas Cole is sure as hell seeing a lot of them in this spine tingling ghost story. The novel tells the tale of Nicholas, who comes back to his childhood home to recover from a tragedy. Do you think he got any rest? Of course not. Instead, we have disturbing ghosts, murdered children, and, while I don't want to give too much away, if your afraid of spiders (like me), this book is going to have a little extra kick in the "don't-read-at-night-right-before-you-go-to-bed-like-I-did" department. The main character is so well described and detailed that it's easy to get lost in his story and the pacing and tone are perfect throughout. The book starts creepy and ends horrifying. It's a great debut novel and I would recommend it highly to all my readers. You can pick up a copy HERE...or you could win one FREE right here on DBH!

Thanks for the giveaway! My favorite ghost story? Most recently I enjoyed Spooky Little Girl by Laurie Notaro because she's hilarious, but for scary ghost story I'd have to go with The Shining by Stephen King.
