Dollar Bin Horror Spotlight - Little Reaper

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I thought it would be fun to kick off 2014 here on DBH with a great short (and as you all know, I love short films!) that takes on both death and teenage girls with phones...a scary combo indeed!

Synopsis - LITTLE REAPER is a horror comedy about the grim reaper's difficult teenage daughter, who takes over her father's duties as reaper for one day. Chaos ensues.

Shorts are a great way for indie film makers to show you what they can do in a minimal amount of time and Peter Dukes' "Little Reaper" is a 10 minute funny take on not only why doing a job right (such as being the Grim Reaper) is important, but also why it's important to put down your damn phone once in a while! The film revolves around the Grim reaper and his teenage daughter. The duty of being the Grim Reaper is an important one and needs to be passed down soon...only problem is his daughter seems to think it's soooo boring! So what happens when Daddy let's her take over for a day? Well...you just gotta see! The film is pretty well shot (my only complaint being the audio when Daddy is talking at the table sounds a bit muffled compared to the rest of the film) and the acting is great. A lot of indie horror comedies come off as too cheesy with really cheap effects, but this films looked great and the story was so true to teenagers these days that it made the comedy even funnier! I love how Peter Dukes combines something dark (the reaper) with family drama and teenage attitude. It's a great little piece...and the best part? It's 100% FREE to watch!!! In fact, no clicking a link necessary, just press play below and enjoy!
