DBH Article:Eric's Take on the Mid-Season Finale of The Walking Dead

By Eric Polk-
Guess who's back? It's been way too long since I've had the privilege of writing here on DBH, but life, as always, gets in the way. Anyhoo, I thought I'd mark my return with a rather easy topic:last night's episode of The Walking Dead.

To be honest, I have mixed emotions regarding the mid-season finale. On one hand, finally saw just how cold-hearted Michonne is and how somewhat human The Governor appears.(A little credit should go to Lucio Fulci for one particular scene) Another hand, the new people making their way to the prison? I must have missed something because there isn't anything they added to the episode. Sure, they're hacking and slashing their way through Walkers but that's really about all we know of them.

The big climax regarding the firefight is decent(unless you're a Darryl fan and you probably screamed seven bloody hells at your tv) but at times I felt The A-Team could have picked the townsfolk off with more accuracy.

The ending is standard cliffhanger material and I truly wasn't surprised with the a certain member of Woodbury. Sp now we what until February...What will happen? Will the quality of the show switch to autopilot or will we continue to watch without out a doubt is becoming one of the finest season of television of all time.....In the meantime, now is a good time to get caught up on your obscure zombie fare :-)

Tyrese was the leader of the group that hacked and sliced their way to the prison. He is a comic fan favorite and many people are excited to see him arrive. What it will mean for the story remains to be seen.

I think last night let us see how crazy the Governor and Rick are. Also nods to the comic.

I think the group did well in Woodbury considering they have had to learn to fight and shooting at zombies is very different than people with guns.

The show is on fire and I hope it continues!

I wasn't blown away with the mid season finale but it was enjoyable. Instead of a quick smash and grab for Glen and Maggie it kinda dragged from splitting it up some much, as you mentioned with the new visitors to the jail.
