Day 30 "favorite horror film" of the 30 day horror challenge

The Exorcist
Can you believe it? We have arrived at day 30 of the 30 day horror challenge. One final entry and we will be all done. Parting is such sweet sorrow, but we'll have memories of all 30 of the days that we navigated through in the horror entertainment field. So how do we close this thing out? We close it out the biggest and the best topic of them all! Favorite horror film? What to choose? So many great titles ripe for the picking. The 70's gave us one masterpiece after another - Don't Look Now, Suspiria, Jaws, The Other, Dawn of the Dead, The Stepford Wives, The Omen, Coma, Carrie, ....just to name a few.  However, none of them quite do it for me like this one does. So I give you.....

The Exorcist - Do I really need to get into detailed speeches as to what makes this film great? No, I didn't think so. You mention the name The Exorcist and everyone the world over knows that this is just a great horror film period. And the fact that this film, nearly 40 years after the fact, lives on and continues to scare a new generation of audiences is a testment to the film's power. The fact that people still talk about this film to this very day, goes to show its staying power with a new batch of people who discover it and for those who grew up loving it.

Just for your information, The Exorcist grossed around $173 million at the box office. Adjusted for today's money, that's around $600 million. Then you got to figure in the re-release of "The Version You Never Saw" grossed around $39 million back in 2000 which would give it additional $47 million when it adjusted for today. So The Exorcist, when adjusted for inflation has done around $650 million in the US alone! One word for those figures - "WOW!".

And just so you know, I perfer the original cut of the film over that version you never saw crap.

So which film would you have picked? ....to take part, the rules are below, or you can check out the Facebook fan page and interact with everyone else that's taking part by visiting:
