Day 29 "worst horror film" of the 30 day horror challenge

So we're getting down to the netty gritty of the 30 day horror challenge. It's hard to believe that after today, there is only 1, count it, 1 more day left! So today we arrive at worst horror film. Hmmmmm.....what to pick? Halloween 3 certainly ranks high (or is it low?) for this dubious honor as does TCM 2. Two films in which you got to ask the question, what were they thinking? But what stops them from making getting this lovely distinction, was that in fact they were trying to do something different within their respective franchises. It was either the execution or the premise that was flawed. So for my pick, I went with a film that reminds me of a bratty little kid. You tell them not to do something, but yet they go and do it again. So I give you....

I Spit On Your Grave remake (2010) - The original was just so pointless and vile. The people that remade this film knew that. They were just looking to cash in. So that get this honor, because they let history repeat itself twice by giving us an awful film adapted from what was an awful film to begin with.

Sure, the violence and rape sequences of the I Spit On Your Grave remake are downright offensive, but there is other ways to offend an audience member. The contempt that this remake has for women is offensive. The film's take on mentally challenged characters is offensive. The portrayal of small town living and the faces that populate these areas is offensive. The overall simplification of logic is offensive. The taste level and refinement are offensive. The way that this remake has a condescending tone towards its audience is offensive. Just about everything that this remake does is offensive. The original I Spit On Your Grave was offensive, but it was so horribly made and so wretchedly acted, that helped to counteract some of the film's offensiveness and made it a bit unintentionally funny at times. The offensiveness of this remake has been amped up to an entirely different level. I Spit On Your Grave not only offends with the despicable scenarios that occur within the film, it's offensive to audience intelligence. Horror fans deserve better then this; the pits.
