Daphne White grew up watching Chiller Theatre with Bill Cardille (Chilly Billy) and fell in love with the Horror genre. She spent 11 years as a Radioman/communications in the United States Navy. While overseas, she organized and produced a Haunted House to raise money for the Girl and Boy guides of Australia. She has acted in several Haunted Houses and dresses up like a zombie whenever she can. Daphne supports her local businesses and artists and is an active contributor and displays her dolls in local art studios. She grew up in Pittsburgh Pa. and now calls Wichita Ks. home. Her hand made dolls are cute and creepy and we sat down to talk about how she got into making them.
Q: When did you start your handmade making dolls?
A: I started making these spookie creatures a year ago. I was attracted to the prim dolls and extreme primitive dolls. I wanted something a little more darker, bloodier, so I thought I would try my hand at making what I wanted.
Q: What goes into the making of one of them?
A: I free hand sketch, hand sew and/or paint them. Bodies are stuffed with poly-fill and love. It takes two to three days to make one doll. All are OOAK (One Of A Kind)
Q: Where do you come up with the ideas for your dolls?
A: I grew up loving the Horror genre, I watch Horror movies all the time. My favorite movie is Night Of The Living Dead original. I have a passion for zombies and Indie Horror movies. Alot of my ideas stem from images and characters from various Horror movies.
Q: Where can we learn more and where can your dolls be purchased?
A: I show my dolls at local art galleries. (Delano, Ks.) Visit my blog at earthdancedaph.blogspot.com. Interested in having a doll made? email me at earthdancedaph@yahoo.com want to learn more about Horror movies? Come visit horror-movies.ca and tell them thedeadshallrule sent you!

Ahh a fellow Pittsburgher! I don't what it is about our town and horror. Maybe it's the sandwiches from Primanti Bros. Ummm, sandwiches stuffed with cole slaw, fries, and meat...
I used to make dolls and scary subjects were a favorite of mine. I'm not so creative these days so it's lovely to see someone else working the muse.
My kids would love this! HA!
Thanks,
