Dollar Bin Film - "Firestarter"

A couple who participated in a potent medical experiment gain telekinetic ability and then have a child who is pyrokinetic.
I thought this movie adaption of the novel by Stephen King was decent. Drew Barrymore was great as Charlie, she disguises her ability to light fires with her anger through her cuteness. David Keith and Heather Locklear's performances weren't all that great, but carried everything along. The best parts of the movie were the special effect, which were wonderful and chilling, George C. Scott as the villain, god he was fucking evil!, and the score by Tangerine Dream, which suited the story perfectly. I do wish there was more of a build-up to the movie, but overall, it's an enjoyable watch.

I'm a big fan of Firestarter, but I also grew up with it. I didn't know that Tangerine Dream did the music for this one...I love the music they did for the Apocalyptic 80's film, Miracle Mile.

The thing I remember most from this movie was David Keith's hair. It was amazing.

Well, and Heather Locklear, but I'm an incredibly biased lover of her.
