This week the horror world lost yet another esteemed member of its fraternity as the talented Karen Black passed away on August 8th after a long battle with cancer. Her contributions to the our favorite genre include House of 1,000 Corpses, Burnt Offerings, The Last Horror Show, The Pyx, Family Plot(Hitchcock's final film), and Trilogy of Terror.
In addition, she starred in cult and mainstream fare including Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces(with Jack Nicholson), Nashville, and her, in comeback role, Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean. She will, like her fellow compatriots who we've lost this year, be missed.
