Dollar Bin Horror Spotlight - Night of the Punks

Small town punk rockers The Brain Deads have their first out of town gig. But there are a few problems: The venue is totally deserted, the promoter is a creep, their bass player has gone missing, and the only kids in the audience are bloodthirsty monsters from hell. It's gonna take a lot more than a few power chords and teenage angst to survive this night.

This short film is the perfect combination of humor, wit, and horror that can be packed into a 19 minute time frame. It has some pretty good acting for an indie comedy and just the right amount of gore for horror fans to enjoy without having to turn away from the screen. What surprised me the most is how well it's made for such a short, low budget film. Most horror comedies just want to throw gag after gag at you without any real good horror content, but this film has found just the right balance and even throws a little romance in at the end. Being a film about a band, it better have some good music...this one does. Overall, it's one of the best indie horror comedies I've seen in a while and I would recommend it to everyone and anyone who wants to see what indie horror should be! Check out more about it HERE!
