Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments:#82-The Terminator (1984)

By Eric Polk-
Among the jokes you will not see in this review are references to Guvenator, Sperminator, or that lovable parody character on The Simpsons, Rainer Wolfcastle...ok, maybe one....

Anyway, at one point and time in our lives, we have seen this 1984 film directed by....yes....James Cameron...the same guy who served us that POS codswallop otherwise known as Titanic....

But, to review, an unstoppable killing machine known as the T-101 is sent from a nuclear war-ravaged to kill the mother of the man who would eventually led the rise against the machines...

NO....NO....NO not Rage Against the Machine....So, at the same time, a resistance solider from the same future comes to back to 1984 to protect the mother from this unstoppable killer.

Alright...STOP IT!!!! Anyway, what happens is predictable so I'll save you the trouble of telling the rest of the plot. Of course I like the original Terminator. Who doesn't?

Well, other than Mendoza....Ah-nuld is at his best in this movie. The gore is, however, low-budget, the effects aren't special for 1984. I mean stop-motion? C'mon. Neverthelesss, the relentless pursuit by an invulnerable killer....well invulnerable to everything but housekeepers(oops!) after a woman is classic slasher horror and makes this one of the better films of the 1980s....then again you have....
