Day 20 "favorite killer animal" of the 30 day horror challenge

There has always been a primal fear of animals that possess the ability to attack and kill people. Snakes, bears, lions, etc have been glorified killing machines throughout cinema for decades. Everyone of course knows about Cujo (1983)! Anaconda (1997) was about a larger than life snake that devoured anyone in its path. The Edge (1997) was about two men who after a plane crash have to band together against all odds, including a bear that wants them dead. The Ghost and the Darkness is a true life tale of two killer lions that killed over 130 people in nine months. The list could go on and on, especially because the Syfy channel releases killer animal pictures on a regular basis. My pick for favorite killer animal film goes to.....

Jaws- Yes! I know! I went with the most obvious pick there is, but damn it Jaws is one of the greatest films ever made! Look how much this film has influenced pop culture these days. Jaws was the first summer blockbuster ever and changed the way that Hollywood does business to this very day. Then who doesn't know duh duh duh duh.......duh duh duh duh!!!!! Or how about lines like, "we're going to need a bigger boat". Or how about how Jaws caused people to be very afraid of the water to this very day? And then there is that sensational editing! Both the score and the editing rightfully won Oscars. Or how about the terrific performances from Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss? And of course, there is that pesky little shark who in one sequence so memorably munches down on a kid. You don't have to be a horror film expert to know about this film or its villain! Jaws delivers the goods in every single way possible! If you think about, when you get into the business of talking about horror films, Jaws is probably the single most impactful film of the genre in the way that it has influenced the way that people live, to the way that Hollywood operates, to the fact that it created one of the most iconic villains, to it creating one of the most memorable movie scores in film history. Jaws is a film that stands the test of time and has created one of the biggest impressions that not only a horror film could have had on audiences, but that any film could have had over viewers.

Favorite killer animal. Hmmm. I'm inclined to go with Cujo. That dog was ugly as @#$% in the movie. The shark from Jaws is a pretty iconic choice, though.
